Ramadan Kareem (Count Your Blessings)

Dear Brothers & Sisters

While you wait patiently for your mother, father, or siblings to finish cooking, there are millions of people (both Muslim and non-Muslim) eating less than one date per meal. We have brothers and sisters suffering under authoritative regimes. Be thankful for the blessings you have received. Do not overeat just for the sake of overeating. When Eid approaches, do not buy expensive clothing just for the sake of ‘impressing’ others.

Lastly, if you know any reverts to Islam invite them over to your home. Especially new reverts to Islam who don’t have the same support system that you may have (entire family is Muslim). A lot of reverts have a difficult time during Ramadan because they are left out and/or forgotten about.

Hopefully this advice was helpful.

Much Love, KhalidThePoet
