Why I Believe In Pan-Africanism

This isn’t magic,
It’s called logic,

I’m a post apocalyptic romantic,

Sometimes referred to as poetic,
Other times called an irrational addict,

Trapped within dreams of a crack fanatic,

I remember being asked in an interview,

Why did you visit Africa?
My answer analytical,
I had to calculate,
What others were missing,

Between the year 1500 to 1866,
12.5 Million Africans were forced into Slavery,
Loaded onto ships bound for Cotton Picking or the Noose,
1.8 Million of them dyed along the way,
Leaving a morality rate of 15 percent,
Along the bottom of the Atlantic,

Instead of pledging allegiance to Uncle Sam,
I refused to bow at the feet of Creation,
My sister pledged allegiance to the U – S – of A.
Genocide caused me to go M.I.A,

This isn’t magic,
It’s called logic,

I’m a post apocalyptic romantic,

Sometimes referred to as poetic,
Other times called an irrational addict,

Trapped within dreams of a crack fanatic,

Within boundaries,
Parental guidance created nation states,
Falsified treaties producing the United Nations,
World’s biggest hoax,

Pan-Africanism became recessive,
After oppression it was responsive,
Within minutes pen-ship dipped in blood possessive,
Adopted the ideology and it became receptive,

My family asked why Africa?
Told me, “you will never be accepted”,
After burying children and Al-Shabbab attacking,
I declared knowledge biblical and authority analytical,
Became skeptical of the mouth that fed me,

This isn’t magic,
It’s called logic,

I’m a post apocalyptic romantic,

Sometimes referred to as poetic,
Other times called an irrational addict,

Trapped within dreams of a crack fanatic,

After losing the ability to smile,
Finding spirituality in an empty bottle,
Walking along the coast of Somalia,
Watching fisherman gaze into the sunset,

I denied all White Liberty,
I became a Pan-Afrikanist,

Belief became tight-nit,
Black skin became kinship,

Economics became revolutionary,
Social and political progress soldiers overnight,
Aims of unification and uplift stirred America’s foundation,

Wishing for Africa Unification,
Waiting for America to label me Politic’s number one terrorist,
Nelson Mandela removed from the U.S terrorist watch list in 2008,

This isn’t magic,
Its called logic,

I’m a post apocalyptic romantic,

Sometimes referred to as poetic,
Other times called an irrational addict,

Trapped within dreams of a crack fanatic,
