Leaving nothing, counting everything,
Animals on land, birds in the sky,
Fish in the sea, humans on earth,
Millions of stars, countless suns,
From the West,
To the East…
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) described paradise,
“Verily I see what you do not see,
And I hear what you do not hear.
The heaven is creaking and it should creak,
For there is no space in it the width of four fingers,
But there is an angel there placing his forehead,
In prostration to Allah (s.w.t)”
Angels prostrate, they cannot disobey,
Ourselves, Allah’s (s.w.t) creation,
Counting every individual sand on earth,
Impossible to imagine,
How many angels prostrate piously,
Calling Allah (s.w.t) when chaos strikes,
Asking for Mercy,
When pain alleviates,
“Indeed, Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour,
And sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs.
And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow,
And no soul perceives in what land it will die.
Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.”
We are travelers,
Running into thieves,
Allah (s.w.t) nourishes the earth,
Holding back rain causing droughts,
Never can we perceive what Allah (s.w.t) gives,
Never can we perceive what Allah (s.w.t) takes,
If you seek truth,
This is what I give,
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) instructs,
Abu al-‘Abbas ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas (ra) reports:
“One day I was riding (horse/camel) behind the Prophet,
Peace and blessings be upon him, when he said,
‘Young man, I will teach you some words.
Be mindful of God, and He will take care of you.
Be mindful of Him, and you shall find Him at your side.
If you ask, ask of God.
If you need help, seek it from God.
Know that if the whole world were to gather together in order to help you,
They would not be able to help you except if God had written so.
And if the whole world were to gather together in order to harm you,
They would not harm you except if God had written so.
The pens have been lifted, and the pages are dry.’ ”
