Hearts empty seeking attention,
Trying to impress the world and easily influenced,
Drunk society afraid of labelling others as morons,
FYI: It is a clinical diagnosis,
Probably written on birth certificates,
In case we forgot,
Allah (s.w.t) prohibited this asinine ideology,
“Believers! Do not nullify your acts of charity by stressing your benevolence,
Causing hurt as does he who spends his wealth only to be seen by men,
And does not believe in Allah and the Last Day.
The example of his spending is that of a rock with a thin coating of earth upon it:
When a heavy rain smites it, the earth is washed away,
Leaving the rock bare; such people derive no gain from their acts of charity. \
Allah does not set the deniers of the Truth on the right way.”
(2:262 – 264)
Promoting Youtube channels,
Trying to become famous,
Rotten heart beats,
Thinking charity accepted,
Donated to your mosque,
Why didn’t you wait till everyone left?
Had to pull out cash in front of everyone,
Raised your hand,
Imam asked for pledges,
100, 200, 500, and 1000,
What hindered you? Slipping money in an envelope?
Wait till no one was looking,
Without a name and addressed to the Zakat box,
Spending 10 dollars on breakfast,
Have to fill your stomach at dinner time,
Pizza delivered once a week,
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had beautiful eating habits,
He never ate Wheat or fine foods,
More than three times a week,
“Have you seen him who belies the rewards and punishments of the Hereafter?
He it is who drives away the orphan,
And does not urge giving away the food of the poor.”
Eating and wasting food at our weddings,
Letting family eat first,
What happened to letting the orphans eat first?
Say goodbye to all those rewards,
Grown accustomed to TMZ,
Making sure to please family,
All rewards lost at sea,
Never seen again,
I don’t refrain from commenting,
Nor do I refrain from addressing the issue,
Narrated by Hakim bin Hizam (ra),
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The upper hand is better than the lower hand,
(i.e. he who gives in charity is better than him who takes it).
One should start giving first to his dependents.
And the best object of charity is that which is given by a wealthy person,
(from the money which is left after his expenses)
And whoever abstains from asking others for some financial help,
Allah will give him and save him from asking others,
Allah will make him self-sufficient.
Abu Huraira (ra) related that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:
He who makes a habit of asking from others reaches out for a brand of Fire,
So let him refrain or continue, as he desires.
Dear Youtube self idolizing Muslims,
Counting how many times you gave in charity,
Open your book,
Don’t be surprised,
Page on the right blank,
Page on the left,
Full of prideful arrogance…
