When Allah (s.w.t) Embraces His Servant

If not for tears,
Nor bleeding fear,
When prostrating in front of Allah (s.w.t),
We only hear His vibrant voice,

As fingers grasp,
While hearts slip,
When alcohol is sipped,
Sins warrant,

Allah (s.w.t) stays close,
Never far away,

He taught us,
As close to us as our vocal chords,

We sin,
Others betray,

Allah reminds,
If we hide someone’s sin,
Allah hides ours,
From the rest of the world…

Knees become weak,
Eyes fail to stay dry,

I ask for Allah to befriend my soul,
Mind, body, and spiritual existence,

As I read, remember, dream,

My tears create a tender pool,
My clothes wet, feet damp,

Cloth me,
With Your tender embrace…
