Beauty of a Muslimah

She has Sunnah wrapping words as gifts,
Snatched black from the sky,
Eye lids mirrored peacock feathers,

Radiant rainbows cover fingernails,
Quran pulls her away from Dunya,

Her nose curves around mountain terrain,
I had been driving,
An on coming truck with eye-lashes wrapped around wheels,

Her neck bending as turn pikes do,
Feeling warmth from sun bursts,
Calculating Einstein’s theory of insanity,

Tipping the scale,
She embarks on forest trails,
Natural paths along Indian ruins,

I hadn’t turned back,
I would have,

She cracked my fingers,
Tears fell as blood drops from my ball point pen,

This Mountaintop,
I ain’t coming down from…
